Livermore Housing Authority Awarded Five Stability Vouchers by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD)

Livermore, CA April 21, 2023 - The Livermore Housing Authority (LHA) is pleased to announce that it has been awarded five Stability Vouchers by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The Stability Voucher initiative makes Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) assistance available to Public Housing Agencies (PHAs) in partnership with local Continuum's of Care and/or Victim Service Providers to assist households experiencing or at risk of homelessness, those fleeing or attempting to flee domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, stalking, human trafficking, and veterans and families that include a veteran family member that meets one of the proceeding criteria.

These vouchers are a part of HUD's commitment to providing stable housing options for individuals and families in need. The Stability Vouchers program is designed to assist households who are experiencing housing instability and are at risk of homelessness. The vouchers provide rental assistance to eligible households, helping them to secure stable and affordable housing in the private rental market.

The Stability Vouchers program will complement LHA's existing programs and services, providing additional support to those in need. The vouchers will be administered in accordance with HUD guidelines, and eligible households will receive assistance based on their individual needs.

The Livermore Housing Authority is committed to working with local partners and stakeholders to ensure that these vouchers are utilized effectively and that they have a positive impact on the community.

The Livermore Housing Authority is committed to leading Livermore's efforts to deliver high quality, safe and affordable housing for low-income households. LHA currently owns and/or operates a total of 167 affordable housing units and serves 695 families on the Section 8/Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) program. HUD classifies the LHA as a "Higher Performer" under the Section Eight Management Assessment Program. LHA converted 125 units out of Public Housing and into Section 8 in August of 2023. LHA is governed by a seven-person Board of Commissioners appointed by the City of Livermore City Council.
